Daryl Stuermer Symphony Concert

World renowned virtuoso guitarist Daryl Stuermer creates a truly unforgettable evening with his newest project, the Daryl Stuermer of Genesis - Symphony Concert.

With his core band featuring vocalist Woody Mankowski, Daryl Stuermer joins with orchestras around the world to reinvent the Genesis concert experience with his unique renditions of Genesis hits and classics including "Throwing it All Away" - "Invisible Touch" - "I Can't Dance" - "Turn It On Again" and "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven," Phil Collins' 1989 Grammy winning Billboard #4 single, co-written by Daryl.

Bursting onto the international music scene in 1975, Daryl toured Europe with critically acclaimed jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and went on to record three innovative albums with him. Since becoming lead guitarist and a touring member of the super-group Genesis in 1978, Daryl Stuermer has toured the world to sold-out crowds with both Genesis and as an original member of Phil Collins band. Stuermer has created the signature lead guitar sound of many Phil Collins mega hits including "In the Air Tonight" and "Easy Lover".

Today Daryl Stuermer continues to play music with his five piece group, The Daryl Stuermer Band, which truly showcases his unique blend of rock and jazz guitar and continues to expand on over 30 years of musical accomplishments. Between world tours and hit recordings, Daryl Stuermer has released eight solo albums of original music and covers his favorite Genesis tunes along the way on 2002's "Another Side of Genesis."

Daryl StuermerGuitarist Daryl Stuermer - Bursting onto the international music scene in 1975, Daryl toured Europe with critically acclaimed jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and went on to record three innovative albums with him. WoodyVocalist/Sax Woody Mankowski has been performing professionally since age 12. Besides singing, he also plays tenor, alto and soprano saxophones, as well as clarinet and flute. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, with a B.A. in Music Performance.

Woody's voice has been recorded on over 500 commercials. You may have heard him on television or radio singing or playing on jingles for clients such as Turner Classic Movies, Simplicity Lawn Mowers and Miller Lite.

He has been a featured soloist with The Boston Pops, The Detroit Symphony, and The Seattle Symphony, among several other major U.S. symphonies, as the male lead in "The Baseball Music Project".

As a freelance instrumentalist, Woody has backed up popular artists such as Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, James Ingram, and Cheap Trick. He has worked in pit orchestras for touring Broadway shows including "The Producers", "Chicago", and "Hairspray".

Woody taught Jazz Saxophone at Lawrence University for six years. He has written over 100 music transcription books for Hal Leonard Corporation.

Kostia EfimovKeyboardist Kostia Efimov was recognized as a prodigy from age 4, and studied classical piano in Soviet Russia during his entire childhood. He continued his passionate interest in music and ultimately graduated from the prestigious St. Petersburg Conservatory.

By 1989 he had developed a keen obsession with jazz and pop music and decided to travel from St. Petersburg to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take part in a cultural exchange program. Within two weeks of his first concert at the Milwaukee Art Museum he was offered a recording contract with Narada Records and went on to perform with icons of the American pop music scene.

Kostia also composes soundtracks for film and theater productions and has recorded solo albums including "Suite St. Petersburg" and "10 Pebbles." He has been performing with Daryl since 1990. His keyboard and synthesizer skills provide the perfect backbone and atmosphere for "Daryl Stuermer of Genesis Band."

Eric HerveyBassist Eric Hervey has been an integral part of the "Daryl Stuermer Band" since 1995. As a professional musician since the age of 16, he's played in nightclubs and traveled the world with countless bands.

Through the years he has recorded and performed with artists such as Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), Stacey Hayden (Sherriff) and Ansley Dunbar (Journey). He's made his mark on every genre of music as a musician, songwriter, arranger, recording engineer and producer.

Alan ArberDrummer Alan Arber is well known throughout the Midwest for his live shows with Daryl Stuermer, Mary Karlzen, and many other bands in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas. His talent extends to commercial jingles, recorded CD projects for Hal Leonard Publishing and recording sessions for a number of artists including Willy Porter and Janet Planet. He performed on a "Best Independent Original" Grammy award-winning song in 1990. Alan holds a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Michael KamenskiGuest Conductor Michael Kamenski received his Master's Degree in symphonic and operatic conducting from the Conservatory of Music in Warsaw, Poland. Following his studies, he was appointed Music Director of the Conservatory Orchestra in Warsaw and guest conducted numerous orchestras including the Warsaw Philharmonic. He conducted the premiere of a Polish Opera by Kaminski in the State Opera House of Warsaw.

Mr. Kamenski has conducted the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and celebrates 25 years as Conductor and Music Director for the Menomonee Falls Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has worked as a staff arranger at Hal Leonard Publishing and arranged and orchestrated a symphonic ballet for Les Grands Ballet Canadiens of Montreal, performed by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.

Kamenski is a frequent speaker on various topics including music theory and aesthetics and liturgical theology.
