Phil Collins Final Tour Update: July 7, 2004 Hello Everybody, Well this is the final "Notes From The Road" e-mail until we tour the United States. Last night we played in Geneva to a sold out arena. It was a very emotional concert for Phil being that he now calls Geneva home for almost the last decade. We were performing one of our encore songs "It's Not Too Late", when all of a sudden Phil stopped singing and raised his hand to stop the song because he was having trouble getting through it. His emotions were taking over to the point were he couldn't sing the song anymore. The lyrics are very touching & this could be his last time performing in Geneva for his family and friends on a major scale like this. Then we went on to "Take Me Home" which he got through just fine. It was a great way to end our European tour. Although we are playing in Montreux tonight, it will be a much different show without the big stage. As I said in the previous letters, there will be no video screens, big risers, or stairs like the stage we are traveling with now. But it should be a lot fun! To all of you who attended the concerts, we appreciate the warm welcome and all the fabulous support you’ve given us throughout the years. Also, thanks for being such a responsive e-mail audience. I’ve really enjoyed reading your e-mails and thanks for sharing those great live photos! We’ll be posting some of them on the site in the near future. I’m sorry that my schedule doesn’t allow me to respond personally, but I appreciate it all the same. I hope you've enjoyed “my life on the road” perspective. Till next time! Best Regards, Daryl |
