Phil Collins Update : June 24, 2004

Hello Everybody,

We've just finished our last show in Germany last night. The German promoter Peter Reiger, put on an aftershow party for us with open bar and a wonderful Sushi bar. Peter has promoted so many concerts for Genesis & Phil Collins over the last couple decades. Peter Reiger, Phil Collins, & Tony Smith(manager) gave some heartfelt speeches being that this could be the last time they work with Mr. Reiger. Another typically generous gesture from Peter was his gift of iPod's for every band member. It's great for me since I've been a techno hold out and haven't even considered an iPod as part of my travel arsenal.

So it's goodbye to the wonderful and loyal fans of Germany (for now). We will miss your loyalty and enthusiasm.

I am writing this message in the plane on our way to Lyon,France. This will be a indoor venue concert. Lately all of our outdoor shows have been cold and rainy weather. We save the indoor shows for beautiful sunny days like today. The European audiences don't seem to mind either way. They stay untill the very end in the cold wet shows after being there for hours even prior to the concert itself. During our hot sweaty indoor shows where they have to stand on the main floor packed in like sardines, they still stay untill the very end as well . We see a lot of fans being passed overhead to the front looking like limp dead bodies passed out from the heat and lack of oxygen. They've been there for hours being crushed by the floor crowd. You can't get any more dedicated than that. We don't deserve them!

After these next couple days in France we are on our way to England for a day off, 2 concerts, and another day off. I am looking forward to seeing my British friends. I heard Tony Banks(Genesis) is coming to the London show. Looking forward to seeing him!

Bye for now,

Daryl
