Phil Collins Tour Update: June 26, 2004

Hello Everybody,

We're here in London for a full (no travel) day off. It's a typical cool rainy day - I'm really not surprised. Tonight a few of us are going to Kensington Tandoori for our Indian food fix. Tomorrow we will play the infamous Wembley Arena. I always look forward to the London audience. They always make you work for their approval. They are not as loose as the Manchester, or Liverpool fans (remember the Beatles?). But they are loyal and right there with you all the way!

The concert last night in Nancy,France was more of a amphitheater (like we have in the States) except that there is only standing on the main floor. It was chilly last night but at least it was not raining. Mike & The Mechanics were also there opening the show. I think it was their best night so far.

During our set Phil read a marriage proposal (in French) on stage from an audience member to his girl friend. Phil said if she accepted we would play "Groovy Kind Of Love'' and if not we'd play "Separate Lives". As it turned out we played "Groovy"."Separate Lives" was performed later in the show.

Last night we did a runner to the airport immediately after the show. The flight was only an hour (flying time) to England but the British customs held us up for an hour when we got there. Usually we just get into some vans and leave. But not this time! No other country we've entered in Europe has ever bothered going through the formality of checking our visa or passport. I'm sure we"ll go through the same hassles when we tour the United States. In the end we got to the hotel at 2:30 in the morning and received our bags around 3am. Hey, today's a day off. I'm just happy we're here in London!

Well that's it for now!

Best Regards,

Daryl
