Phil Collins Tour Update : June 30, 2004

Happy (Official) "Handover Day" To Iraq,

Wembley Arena (London) turned out to be a great audience. They were the most enthusiastic London audience I think I can remember. Tony Banks was there with his wife Margaret and his son Ben. Golfer Nick Faldo was there . Ben is on a golf tour with him. Mike Rutherford was there also. We played "Always" for Phil's mother (who was in the audience). At one point after the show Tony Smith (manager) was presented with a memento from the guys for his 30 years with the band. It was a plaque with all the albums over the years that he was involved with. Most of all it was great just standing there with the guys again (Mike,Tony, Phil, & Chester). Brought up a lot of fond memories of past "back stages" after a Genesis show. It seemed like we just played a concert ourselves. Let's now do that on stage in concert for real. Okay!

Manchester was as good as I expected them to be. They are always a warm audience. But next time I won't eat Chicken Vindaloo before the show. I'll save Indian food for days off!

Sorry I don't have time to say more, but we are getting ready to fly to Nimes, France to do a outdoor concert. I heard it's over 90 degrees today(no rain). Then we do a runner right after the show to Barcelona. We'll be with "The Mechanics" in Barcelona.

Till next time!

Best Regards,

Daryl

P.S. I guess we don't have to worry about Iraq anymore. They have it covered. Yeah sure! I'm glad I'm too old to be drafted!!
